Someone Stole My Script
What does it look like when there is no magic left in the world?

12-year-old Wren Lovelock steps through a faerie circle to find a community ravaged by disaster – a community that struggles to remember passion, joy, and hope. Turning her back on a difficult family life in a world not built for her, Wren tries to rekindle the lifeless castle. Dryad’s Rest may not have any magic left in it, but Wren, a nonverbal child with an undying love for dance, has plenty to spare. Unfortunately for her, she will soon find that life marches on...
Wren Lovelock
Age: 12

Pronouns: she/her

Likes: dancing, music, comfy clothes

Dislikes: shoes, candy, polyester

Though most people may not realize it, Wren is an independent young girl with a big heart and a quick mind. Working with an aide to help her focus, Wren attends a mainstream middle school and completes the same work as her peers. However, her developmental disability makes it difficult for her to connect with others in age-appropriate ways, and she spends more than ten hours a week in therapy, fighting to talk to her family in a way that they will understand. When she finds the gate to Dryad’s Rest, it becomes her escape from her strained home life and uncertain future.
Wren dreams of one day being able to dance on a stage, and even more, of perhaps learning how to share the thoughts and feelings that she struggles to understand alone.

Marigold has lived in the castle at Dryad’s Rest his entire life. He was at the epicenter of Abysm’s collapse, the tragedy that drained the life and love from his home, and it left him deeply scarred. Still, he has a desperate need to help his community recover. Dryad’s Rest was once the cultural center of the continent, full of performers, artists, and forerunners of all kinds. With the passion sapped from the air itself, what of that beautiful place is left?
When Marigold meets Wren, he remembers what hope feels like.

Jezebel led a charmed life until the Abysm broke free, but things are different for her now.
Wren feels a connection with Jezebel as soon as they meet, and can’t help but come back to see her again.
